Kokura-ori is a cotton fabric produced since the Edo period, mainly in Buzen Kokura (present-day Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture).

Due to its durability and beautiful weaving, it was used as a samurai's hakama and obi, as well as everyday wear among the common people.
It was valued as such.

However, due to the effects of a period of industrial change, it disappeared in the early Showa era .

In 1984, the dyeing and weaving artist Noriko Tsukijo restored and revived Kokura-ori, which continues to this day .

"Kokura Chiji" was restored and reborn in 1994 by Noriko Tsukijo .
Unlike Ogura-ori, Ogurajiji is a very thin and light fabric suitable for summer wear, and is made of highly twisted silk or cotton yarn.
It is woven using.
